Join Sully McCarthy for a glimpse into the life and art of Edward Gorey. Renowned for his delightfully macabre pen-and-ink drawings and nonsensical storytelling, Gorey remains one of the most distinct and beloved American artists in recent history. After Sully’s brief talk, you’ll then have the chance to work on your own submission to the Edward Gorey House 2026 Envelope Art Contest! This year’s theme is “An Utter Zoo,” inviting us all to imagine creatures real or fantastic. We will provide pens, pencils, crayons, markers, and envelopes, but you are welcome to bring your own! Both the contest and this event are open to all ages. No registration necessary!

Alzheimer's Support Programs

Our friends at Falmouth Memorial Library invite you to participate!

Falmouth Memorial Library is working with the Alzheimer's Association to provide monthly programming via Zoom to support caregivers, family, and friends of people living with Alzheimer's/Dementia. Each month, on the third Friday of the month at noon, we will host a program on one topic to help navigate the caregiving journey. Some of the topics include communication, managing money, making the holidays more enjoyable, and many more.

Their first program is an overview of the impact of the disease, and it will be on Friday, October 23 at noon.  Here is the link to the event on their online event calendar which has an event description, and it is also where people can register: https://falmouth.librarycalendar.com/event/ALZ1023
