September brings a life-saving topic to our community: the history of the Cape Elizabeth Rescue. Fire Chief Steve Young and his crew will offer dramatic stories and photos from past rescue teams that have served the town over many decades. Timing often allows for questions and comments from the audience. The presentation is free and light refreshments will be provided.
This is the start-up of the 2026-27 series of popular monthly presentations offered by the Cape Elizabeth Historical Society (CEHPS) in partnership with the Thomas Memorial Library.
In a change of venue, the history-related talks will generally be held on the third Thursday of the month at the Town Hall Council Chamber. Entry is through the left-side and right-side doors.
This exciting venue change allows the accommodation of the larger number of attendees the talks are attracting.
