Our Grab & Grow plant cutting swap station in the library's lobby has been so popular, we are short on cuttings. If you have any houseplants you'd like to share, please bring us some cuttings. We have jars ready and waiting for them!

Our Library of Things (LoT) is growing! We just added the following items:

• A second Radon Detector (the first one was in high demand!)
• A Go Pro camera
• A Portable CD/Cassette Player Boombox with Bluetooth & AM/FM Radio

LoT items are available on a first-come first-served basis and cannot be reserved, but you can browse our LoT collection in our catalog to check availability.

We also have LoT items located in the Children's Room, and they can be borrowed by grown-ups, too! You can browse that collection in our catalog as well.

Join us at the library for a very special screening of Canoe Dig It?  followed by a Q&A with director, writer, and lead actor Sam Dunning. 

Winner of “Best Maine Film” at the 2025 Maine Outdoor Film Festival, this mockumentary comedy about a fictional canoeing competition in Northern Maine is perfect for any fan of New England, Christopher Guest, summer sports, or Marden’s. The film tracks a handful of quirky and curiously relatable competitors vying for the blue ribbon at the Moosehead Regional Finals. We follow our cadre of diverse canoeists’- a cutthroat perfectionist, a backwoods natural, an aging underdog, a squabbling couple of summer camp owners, and a hard rocking bartender- as they prepare for the big stage (lake). 

Runtime: 78 minutes. Suggested for ages 15+.

Children ages 3 through 7 years old and their caregivers are welcome to the garden outside of the Children's Room for a sing-along reading of Miss MacDonald Has a Farm by Kalee Gwarjanski.

Come for a fun story and stay to contribute to a mural of vegetable prints to display in the children's room this fall. 

Bring your own clothing, bags, and more to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art to take home with you.

Water-soluble paints, fabric paints, and vegetables will be provided. Child supervision is required at all times. No registration necessary.

This month, Film School will travel back in time to the 1967 movie that changed everything in Hollywood: Bonnie and Clyde was and remains a landmark film in American history.

Join us for a screening and discussion of this must-see film for any cinephile!

Snacks welcome; popcorn provided. 

Join us for an outdoor coffee-and-pastries book discussion on the hit book and HBO series Big Little Lies, hosted in collaboration with nonprofit organization Finding Our Voices.  We will discuss female friendships, and ways to help a friend, sister, mother, or daughter who may be trapped in an unhealthy or dangerous relationship.

This discussion also comes on the heels of the August 25 release of Big Little Truths, Liane Moriarty’s long-awaited follow-up to her 2014 hit, and we will have a drawing for a free copy of the new book at this event.

Clearly, TML users prefer audiobooks over ebooks by a wide margin. Below is a chart showing how many people uses CloudLibrary during the last fiscal year. 

eShark has collected scuba divers, snorkelers, and other observations on sharks and rays from around the world!

These data have helped get sharks and rays on the endangered species list, supported smarter Shark Sanctuaries, informed species status on the RedList, and united communities around the world to track and protect sharks.

Anyone can participate in this citizen science effort.
